Sonora Residence

Nestled in the foothills of the beautiful North Shore Mountains, m+ Architecture | Interior Design designed this private residence with a West Coast Modern architectural flair. 

The site itself presented several challenges, including the creek, wildfire hazards and property access via the forest and mountain setting. 

This home features Energuide 84, which is one of the highest standards in energy efficiency for residential buildings and includes features such as triple glazed windows.

The home is open concept, featuring clean lines. It is designed to allow residents to take full advantage of the natural beauty of the location, with large windows to show off stunning views and let in abundant natural light.

The exterior boasts a beautiful glass surround deck facing the McKay River where residents enjoy the gorgeous West Coast sunset.

Intelligent maximization of the space is evident in the open floor plan which includes floor to ceiling cabinet design, ample storage and glass staircase panels.

The staircase creates a visually pleasing focal point in the main space.

Interior design colours are neutral and earthy tones that compliment and invite in the lush natural landscape that embraces the exterior.

Carefully crafted ceiling designs and recessed lighting warm the interior and create obvious intended room separation throughout.

Furnishings and fixtures are elegant and easy to maintain, and thoughtfully placed for an inviting atmosphere without overwhelming each room.
